Description:
This is Project 8 of the 2024 NHERI Computational Academy, focused on evaluating the seismic performance of highway transportation infrastructure in the San Francisco Bay Area. The project utilized SimCenter tools, including both the frontend graphical user interface and the backend Python codebase, to achieve its goals. The project team, listed in alphabetical order by last name, includes Amma Agyekum, Alireza Ghavidel, Miguel Fuentes Gomez, Abhijit Roy, and Morgan Sanger, with mentorship provided by Jinyan Zhao from the SimCenter.

Simulation Model | 4 - Seismic Intensity and Damage Simulation
Description:
This model simulates the ground shaking intensity for an Mw 7 earthquake scenario using ground motion prediction equations and spatial correlation models. The ground shaking intensities are then used to estimate bridge damage using FEMA's HAZUS fragility functions.
