Description:
This project investigates the seismic performance of the Banded Rotary Friction Damper (BRFD) in semi-active mode through numerical simulations in MATLAB. This data can be used in support of the use of friction dampers in semi-active mode, as well as a template for further testing with Real Time Hybrid Simulation. This project is also the first to simulate the BRFD since its fabrication. The findings are meant to be presented to engineers at the undergraduate and professional level.
