Highlights from 2025 NHERI User Forum Survey
Published on September 26, 2025
"The creation of NHERI has helped to advance research collaborations in the natural hazards research community."
"My own research has been enhanced through my use of NHERI resources and/or my connection to the NHERI components."
Each year, the NHERI User Forum conducts its User Satisfaction Survey to gather valuable feedback from researchers, students, and practitioners across the NHERI community. The survey is our way of hearing directly from you on how well NHERI’s facilities, data systems, and support services are meeting your needs, and where we can do better. Find results of prior surveys on the NHERI User Forum website.
Your input matters. Over the years, your feedback on the User Satisfaction Survey has informed decisions about new training opportunities, scheduling processes, and enhancements across NHERI components. It’s also demonstrated the tremendous value that NHERI’s facilities, data systems, and support services have had on your careers: each year, a significant majority of respondents indicate NHERI has enhanced research agendas and helped advance research collaborations in the natural hazards research community.
Specifically, in the 2025 User Forum User Satisfaction Survey, 94% of survey respondents agree or strongly agree that NHERI has advanced research collaborations in our community. And further, 80% of respondents agree or strongly agree that NHERI has enhanced their own research.
Beyond the numbers, your survey comments remind us how valuable NHERI is:
“This is one of the best NSF-related programs I have worked with,” and “NHERI has been so important for going all hazards (or many hazards) and integrating disciplines.”
So, thank you for your feedback! By taking time to respond, you’ve helped make it easier for researchers to access world-class resources and conduct impactful hazards research.
Your voices not only inform decisions, they also highlight the essential role NHERI plays in advancing research and building collaborations that strengthen resilience nationwide.
The 2025 User Forum Survey was conducted by Maggie León-Corwin, PhD, University of Oklahoma Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis.
